Cadet Assistant Superintendent Binta Njie-Jatta has confirmed the arrest and detention of a young lady who is suspected of killing Momodou Lamarana Jallow on Wednesday at Friendship Hotel in Bakau.
According to the source, the late Momodou Lamarana Jallow worked as an IT specialist at the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“The information reached the police at around 3 am. For now, the suspected person is a young lady that is said to be lodged with him at the Hotel. The Police visited the scene and the lady was arrested and is helping the police with the investigation. When the police visited the place at around 3 am, the lady was not there. This was said to have happened earlier before 3 am, but the police received information at around 3 am,” she said.
The management of Friendship Hostel said that the man, before today’s incident, lodged the lady now arrested by the police.
“A man has been found dead at the Friendship Hostel after lodging with a woman. The Police have arrested the woman alleged to have murdered the man. The Police have removed the dead body and the police have mounted an investigation into the alleged murder,” the statement stated.
