Leaders PSV Wellingara held, Medical beat Waterside in GFF 2nd tier league

Second Division League leaders, PSV Wellingara were held to a draw, while Medical FC defeated Waterside FC during their week-28 fixtures of the Gambia Football Federation Second Tier League played on Thursday.

PSV Wellingara were held to a 1-1 draw by Bombada FC, during the second game played at the Stadium in Bakau.

The Wellingara-based team, PSV, now recorded their fifth draw of the season, while the Brikama-based team, Bombada FC collected their seventh draw of the league.

The draw put PSV Wellingara back to the top of the league with 53 points, a point ahead of second-place team, while Bombada FC sit 4th position with 46 points after 28 games each.

Elsewhere, Medical FC defeated Waterside 2-0 in an earlier game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Central River Region based team, Medical FC now collected their ninth victory of the season, while the Banjul based struggling side, Waterside suffered their fifteenth defeat of the league.

The victory moved Medical FC to 13th position with 32 points, while the defeat maintained Waterside at the rock bottom (18th) position with 23 points, leveling with Wagadu.

BK Milan were held to a goalless draw against Latrikunda United, during the late encounter played at the Stadium.

The Bakau Kachikally Milan team now registered their eleventh draw of the league, while the Sabiji based team, Latrikunda United collected their sixth draw of the season.

The result put BK Milan to 5th position with 44 points, while Latrikunda United occupied 14th position with 27 points.

B4U Kiang West were held 2-2 against Jam City, in a game played at the Soma-Mini-Stadium in LRR.

The Lower River Region based team, B4U, now forced to their ninth draw of the season, while the Jambanjelly based struggling side, Jam City registered their seventh draw of the season.

The draw put B4U Kiang West at 6th position with 42 points, while Jam City occupied 16th position with 26 points.

Meanwhile, Week-28 fixtures of the Second Division League continue today, on Monday.

Gunjur United will be taking on Young Africans at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum; Dibba Oil will entertain Immigration FC at the Soma Mini-Stadium in LRR; Red Hawks FC will play against Jarra West in the earlier game at the Stadium, before Tallinding United taking on Kanifing East in the late encounter at the Stadium.
