Africa should utilize its airlines for self-respect

The Sierra Leonean First Lady, Fatima Maada Bio recently encounter an unfortunate situation with an Airliner of Air France which she blasted Air France for treating Africans like slaves.

From this encounter, it is with the suggestion that Africans should begin to utilize or reconsider valuing some of its top ten airlines for self-respect in air transportation.

Africans deserve moral respect in the outside world, particularly, women, children, or those with disabilities. With this incidence, African airline operators should try to expand their roots to other parts of the African continent and by extension to the world.

Africa is endowed with some of the best airlines in the world, still, they prefer using foreign airlines which resulted in the Air France encounter with the First Lady and other women with their children on board.

It could be recalled that the First Lady recently blasted Air France in a long Facebook post coming on the heels of concerns against the airliner, where she said Air France has no “sympathy for African passengers traveling with children” or even those with disabilities.

It is with the opinion that Africans should then have sympathy for themselves with self-respect by using their best airlines for traveling, such as Ethiopian Airlines, South African Airways, Kenyan Airways, Royal Air Marco, Air Mauritania, and Air Seychelles and Air Rwanda among others.

Ethiopian Airlines was ranked as the number one airline in Africa, followed by South African Airways and Kenya Airways which Africans can make the best use of as far as air transport is concerned. Africans should liberate themselves by using what they have.

She narrated in a recent online publication that as they, (the passengers) checked in to fly out from Paris to Guinea via Sierra Leone, after sitting on the flight for 2 hours, they were asked to move from that plane because it was faulty.

Madam Bio further revealed that they moved into another plane, and sat for another 2 hours where the pilot announced that they could not travel any longer because the crew had gone over their time and asked everyone to leave the plane with no other explanation and that women with children were left roaming the airport not knowing what to do.

So, to avoid these unfortunate circumstances, why not Africans use their airlines for traveling. Africa should stand up and stop depending on foreign airlines when it is endowed with some of the best airlines in the world.
