Samger FC, Marimoo win their GFF 1st Division League week-23 fixtures

The Academy boys, Samger FC and the Manjai-based team Marimoo FC have both won their Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League week-23 fixtures played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Monday.

Samger FC defeated Steve Biko 2-1 during the earlier game at the Stadium on Monday.

The Cherno Samba Academy boys, Samger FC now recorded their sixth win of the season, while the Beach Boys, Steve Biko suffered their seventh loss of the league.

Samger FC overall collected six victories, six draws and ten defeats after 22 games, while Steve Biko under the guidance of Atnant Musa also gathered eight wins, six draws and seven defeats after 21 games.

The victory now moved under pressure Samger FC out of the relegation zone at 14th position with 24 points, while Steve Biko occupied 5th position with 30 points leveling with Marimoo FC.

Elsewhere, Marimoo FC beat the defending champions Fortune FC by the same score-line 2-1 during the late encounter played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Monday.

The Manjai-based team, Marimoo who are on an impressive form now recorded their seventh win of the season, while the struggling Fortune FC suffered their tenth defeat of the league.

Marimoo FC overall collected seven wins, nine draws and six losses after 22 matches, while the Petroleum Boys, Fortune FC overall registered seven wins, five draws and ten defeats after 22 matches.

The victory moved Marimoo FC to 4th position with 30 points, leveling with Steve Biko, while the defeat dropped Fortune FC to 11th position with 25 points.

Meanwhile, at the time of going to press yesterday, Gamtel FC were locking horns with Team Rhino during the earlier game, before Falcons taking on Elite United at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
