Police chief talks tough on indiscipline

Abdoulie Sanyang, Inspector General of Police has urged Police men and women to continue to inculcate discipline and observe regimentation within the ranks of the force.

IGP Sanyang made the comments while addressing Police officers within the West Coast Region and Kanifing Municipality as part of his nationwide tour of security installations.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Banjulinding, IGP Sanyang tipped discipline and regimentation as key to a better force, which everyone can rely on in Security and safety of all and sundry.

The IGP warned that his office will not condone any act of indiscipline in the force and assured that, the GPF under his command will continue to serve with utmost diligence and dedication to the Gambian people.

He thanked the members of the community and the West Coast Regional Command for their hard work and resilience in policing the region.

The police boss also revealed that his administration will do everything possible to augment the welfare and standards of living of the men and women under his command.

The IGP and tour party also visited Brikama, Gunjur, Sanyang, Siffoe, Tujereng and Brufut PIU base, where similar words were said.

The tour party enters the KM on Wednesday, with a meeting at Abuko Police Station, where similar sentiments were echoed by the police boss. The IGP further visited all other major police stations in the KM and later paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of KMC, Talib Bensouda where discussions were centred on the achievement of the police and community-police relations in the region.

Other places visited by the IGP and party include Kairaba Police Station, Kotu, TDA and PIU headquarters in Kanifing. The tour continues.
