GFF Second Division League week-19 fixtures update

BK Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Young Africans during their week-19 fixture game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Wednesday.

The Bakau Kachikally Milan team who missed the chance to extend their lead now succumbed to their eighth draw of the season, while Young Africans also conceded their eighth draw of the season.

The draw maintained B.K. Milan at the top of the standings with 35 points, leveling with PSV Wellingara, while Young African occupied 13th position with 20 points.

Elsewhere, Waterside FC played a goalless draw against Wagadu in their week-19 fixture debutant affair played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Wednesday.

The Banjul-based team, Waterside FC now conceded their fifth draw of the season, while the Upper River Region-based team, Wagadu registered their sixth draw of the season.

The result occupied Waterside 17th position with 17 points, while Wagadu maintained their 12th position with 21 points.

Jarra West played a 1-1 draw with Latrikunda United at the Soma Mini-Stadium.

The Jarrangers team, who were looking to claim into the top five, have now conceded to their third draw of the season, while the Sabiji-based team, Latrikunda United also earned their fourth draw of the league season.

The draw sent Jarra West to 11th position with 27th points, leveling with Kanifing East, while Latrikunda United, who now moved away from the relegation zone, sit 15th position with 19 points after 19 encounters.

Elsewhere, PSV Wellingara defeated Greater Tomorrow 2-1 in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

The Wellingara-based team, PSV now collected their eleventh win of the season, while Greater Tomorrow suffered their seventh defeats of the season.

The victory moved PSV Wellingara to 2nd position with 35 points, leveling with first-place occupant BK Milan, while the defeat dropped Greater Tomorrow to 4th position with 32 points after 19 matches.

Tallinding United were beaten 1-0 by B4U Kiang West in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

The Buffer Zone boys, Tallinding United who are in good run of form now suffered their sixth defeat of the season, while Kiangers, B4U, registered their ninth victory of the season.

The defeat dropped Tallinding United to 3rd position with 33 points, two points ahead of B4U Kiang West who occupied 5th position with 31 points after 19 games.

On Friday, Gunjur United were defeated 2-0 by Immigration FC in a game played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

The Coastal Town boys, Gunjur United who were one of the early pacesetters in the league now suffered their fifth defeat of the season, while Immigration FC recorded their eighth victory of the season.

Gunjur United who earned eight wins and six draws currently occupied 7th position with 30 points, one point ahead of Immigration FC who sit 8th position with 30 points after collecting eights wins and five draws.

Medical FC won Red Hawks FC 1-0 on the same day in a game played at the Soma Mini-Stadium.

The Central River Region-based team, Medical, now collected their eighth win of the season, while Red Hawks FC suffered their eleventh loss of the season.

Medical FC who also collected four draws and seven defeats after 19 games occupied 9th position with 28 points, while Red Hawks continued their struggle as they languished at the rock-bottom (18th) position with 16 points after 19 matches.

On Saturday, Kanifing East beat Dibba Oil 2-0 in a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

The Eastern Boys, Kanifing registered their sixth victory of the league, while Dibba Oil suffered tenth defeat of the season.

The result moved Kanifing East to 10th position with 27 points, leveling with Jarra West, while Dibba Oil occupied 14th position with 19 points, leveling with Latrikunda United.

At the time of going to press yesterday, on Sunday, Bombada FC were playing with Jam City at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
