Banjul north new lawmaker thanks Darboe and party supporters for election victory

Momodou Lamin Bah, who emerged winner of Saturday’s   parliamentary election in Banjul north, has thanked the leader of United Democratic Party leader Ousainou A.N.M Darboe and Banjul Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe and supporters  of  party for his victory.

Mr Bah defeated PDOIS Ousman Sillah and National People’s Party’s Samba Njie after securing 1,658 votes cast of the constituency.

“A warm greeting to you all, I may fall short of words to express my emotions and gratitude for the opportunity bestowed upon me as your new elected Member of Parliament for Banjul North Constituency.

“I extend my sincere thanks to my wife, family, friends, and loyal supporters who have worked tirelessly to make this victory a reality. Also, I thank all the people who trusted me and have put their faith in me most especially Her Lordship Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe who groomed and always put me on the right path. I equally thank my Party leader Hon. Ousainou A.N.M Darboe and the entire United Democratic Party for their steadfast trust in me,” he said.

“I also want to take this moment to thank Honourable Sillah who has represented Banjul North for the past five years. For those who have not voted for me I look forward to earn your trust. I shall work for you as well as your representative. A team is like an orchestra, and ours was headed by our indefatigable conductor Hon. Abdoulie Krubally, my campaign manager, Hon. Bintou SM Jaiteh my assistant campaign manager and Mr Sulayman Bun Njie my chief adviser. We shall forever be grateful to all of them for their tenacity, insights and foresight,” he added.

“I would also like to thank my Refela family who has been with our campaign from day one. Likewise the erudite yayi compings, elders of the constituency and my able campaign team with my polling agents and equally the eloquent Mr Makumba Sanneh, Hon. Omar BJ Touray and Mustapha Sarr(Arch), Marget Samba just to name a few. To all the hardworking people of Banjul North constituency let’s keep in mind that no one person can do all jobs, but together we can. So, let’s join hands together to work with team spirit in the day-to-day operations of our constituency and for the well-being of our people.  Change has come to Banjul North so let’s seize this opportunity to make Banjul North a beacon of hope, a place that affords opportunity to all and where people can call home with a twenty-first century standard of living,” he continued.
