Tallinding South councillor rebuffed Fatoumatta Jawara’s development projects claim

Karamo Ceesay, Councillor for Tallinding South has rebuffed development projects claim by Tallinding constituency National Assembly member, Honorable Fatoumatta Jawara.

Last week, the Honorable said she has brought lots of development projects to Tallinding as she seeks re-election to the parliament.

However, Mr Cessay said: “Fatoumatta never organised a single meeting neither to visit her electorates who voted for her to the National Assembly. Since 2017 Fatoumatta has never pick even a single stone or stick in the streets of Tallinding neither to bring any meaningful development to her electorates.”

“The cemetery, Community Health Centre, Tallinding Gilifity Kunda Market, the sleeping police, the three mosques within Tallinding, the Tallinding Ward Development Committee Cinderella project which is a Skill Centre project, Tallinding Street Light project were all brought by me and my Ward Development Committee (VDC) and the people of Tallinding can bear me witness on these major developments,” he echoed.

According to him, he and his committee through the support of their partners spent over D5 million for the development.

“If we are to campaign let us campaign with honesty and dignity, with respect to our electorates rather than tantalising them with projects that doesn’t exist. The people of Tallinding and the entire Gambian people are no longer sleeping or ready to vote for those sleeping and immoral MPs again. We have all witnessed the difficulties that we are currently facing, an MP who will not contribute meaningfully to the debate at the parliament shouldn’t be voted in again,” he said.

He urged the Gambian to vote wisely this time in other to avoid the backwardness of motherland.
