Senegambian Queen embarks on cultural tour.

A US-based Senegambian cultural missionary yesterday arrived here for a four-day tour of Senegal and the Gambia.

From her base in California, USA, Queen Binta T.E Goudiaby arrived in the Gambia via Senegal to celebrate Senegambian culture, institutions and individuals that positively impact on people’s lives within the two neighbouring countries.

Before crossing into Gambia from Southern Senegalese province of Cassamence, Queen Binta and her entourage visited the traditional   King of Oussouye and some women groups in Medjedj Village that she has been supporting financially as part of her philanthropic activities.

Meanwhile, as part of her cultural tour in the Gambia the queen will visit her grandmother’s home in Busumbala before presiding over an award ceremony and gala dinner to be held on February 26 at Kunta Kinteh Hotel.

As part of the award program some 30 institutions and individuals from Senegal and the Gambia will be honoured for their positive contributions to their respective societies and humanity in general. Among those to be decorated with good leadership award included former Senegalese President, Me Abdoulaye Wade, Dr. Ibrahima Badjie, a consultant in diplomacy/ international relations and African geopolitics, the founder of African Global Business and Consulting International, Lamin Kaba Bajo, the President of GFA and many others.

Meanwhile, Queen Binta, the Crown Council of Queens of H.I.M Empress Shebah Ra-Queen Shebah 111 AND Queendom Throne of Sheba-Governor General, is the founder of Casa Film Production, CEO of Casa film music an Exhibition of Women among other businesses.

She is also a philanthropist helping needy people within Senegal, the Gambia and beyond.
