Residents of Ebo Town have expressed their unhappiness as they complained about underdevelopment of the town amid of their numerous calls to the government for support.

Speaking to The Voice, Sohna Touray, a resident of the town said: “Ebo Town is not hygienic full of stagnant waters nobody knows where these waters are coming from. The sad thing is that children will be playing inside this stagnant waters because they don’t know if it  is good or not for their health.”

“If the water is hygiene, then one can understand but that is not the case in Ebo Town and it is very hard to get rid of it because every time the youth will come out in numbers to do cleaning exercise. They will look for solution for this stagnant water still, they are unable to find solution on how to eradicate the stagnant waters or discover its origin, “she added.

According to her, government should help them because they are living in a very unhygienic environment which she said is not good for their health.

Sarjo Gaye also lamented “when election was approaching all the politicians came here and promised to help us but we have not received any help from them and this is not what we expected from them.”

“Let them know now that their five years is almost out and they will soon start coming to us seeking for our votes or re-election, we will not vote for anyone of them. We cannot trust them anymore because they never fulfil any of their promises,” she said.

“We are living in a very bad condition here because this stagnant water can cause sicknesses, if they really care about our health let them find a solution to our problems and end this. Because we are also citizens of this country, so let them not ignore us,” she said.

She explained that for more than fifteen years they have been living in this kind of nasty situation and nobody has ever come to help them.

Mr Ebrima on his own said since he has been living Ebo Town he has not one season see a development in the town.

He urged the government to help them develop the place because the condition they are living is not good.
