BK Milan suffers first defeat in GFF 2nd Division League

Last year’s GFF 1st Division League relegated side, BK Milan FC, suffered their first loss in the GFF 2nd Division League after being defeated 2-1 by Gunjur United in their week-5 fixture played at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum last Thursday.

The Bakau Kachikally-based team has started life in the Gambian second tier league very impressively after winning all their four last fixtures in a row, while the Coastal Town boys, Gunjur United, have now collected their third victory of the league so far.

Gunjur United knew that a defeat against BK Milan would dashed their hopes of gaining promotion to the country’s elite league next season.

The victory moved Gunjur United to 5th position on the country’s second tier table with 10 points leveling with Medical FC and Tallinding United while BK Milan sit 2nd position with 12 points leveling with Immigration FC after five league outings.

Elsewhere, newly promoted side, Kanifing East also defeated Greater Tomorrow 3-2 in a game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Thursday.

The Eastern-based side, Kanifing has now collected their first win of the season so far, while Greater Tomorrow now conceded to four defeats of the season so far.

Kanifing East who now collected one win, two draws and two defeats occupy 12th position with 5 points, while Greater Tomorrow who also collected one win, four defeats and zero draw sit 16th position with 3 points leveling with Latrikunda United after five games.
