APRC-breakaway claims Barrow didn’t win December election

By Adama, Makasuba

The breakaway group of Jammeh’s APRC party has claimed that President-elect Adama Barrow didn’t win the December election.

Jarending Sanyang, one of the top officials of the group, said the GDC-APRC alliance will support the United Democratic Party in their court battle to ensure election fraud is stopped in the country completely.

“So, what the results can predict, no one can tell, everyone is ready for that and everybody is watching. We are on UDP’s side because the evidence we gathered, not separately GDC, GAP alliance, is behind them,” he said.

“I have a strong belief that the election is not free and fair. We can stand on behalf of (breakaway) APRC we are not going to fight.  Any registered in this country registered under the law including the party supporters as below, as no one is above the law,” he stated.

“With their agreement a lot are there that we are aware of and coming from the Presidential elections even though we are still in the period. What I understand in law is that there is no winner for now. It is only the court that can declare the winner. If you think that this case is UDP vs NPP you are fooling yourself this battle is between NPP, GDC UDP and GAP alliance. We will get the maximum support. I said that two things will happen in this country that is people demand either null or void election fraud. The law has back that and departure of foreign forces we don’t need them in our country,” he continued.

“With all the results Mamma Kandeh won the whole of Foni if not only Bondali. The issue is at the court that is why I don’t want to (dilate on) mentioning it because they can use that as an excuse for defense. Before this issue reaches the parliament, I assure them that the issue will be extended to court and now we are working extensively and our lawyers are well secured. They have given us legal advice that we need and by Allah’s grace before reaching parliament everything will be solved. We have joined GDC through directives. Someone we are between directives of Yaya Jammeh who is the party leader. He looked at all the parties and said let’s work with Mamma Kandeh when they disappointed him,” he said.
