GANU leader promises to accomplish Jammeh’s development aspirations

The leader of Gambia Alliance for National Unity (GANU) has promised to accomplish the former president Yahya Jammeh’s development aspiration shortly after striking an alliance deal with APRC party for December presidential election.

Sheikh Tijan Hydara, former Justice Minister under Jammeh regime, was addressing APRC supporters in Kalagi saying “I promise to complete the work that Jammeh started which his government will complete to expand the infrastructural development of The Gambia. Yahya Jammeh still has sympathy for the people considering the country`s health sector and agriculture because he wants to see The Gambia become food sufficient, which are part of Jammeh,” he said.

“Our mandate and the programs are based on how this country can move forward in terms of developments, which is my concern since I was a Minister in Jammeh`s government and I will make sure that we do development together with the APRC and Jammeh will be behind us in order to fulfill the development agenda,” he added.

“The forming alliance with the APRC is God`s decision, I praised former president Jammeh for the confidents, I hope and trust he has in me and I will show to him the hope he has in me not to be regretted, he will never have that from me forever. I will tell the people of Foni and the APRC to see me as you are seeing your son Yahya AJJ Jammeh standing before you because that is our benefit tomorrow,” he told his followers.

According to him, before 1994 doctors were not produced in The Gambia, and the country has its own doctors who were produced in the country when Yahya Jammeh built the University which producing doctors annually.

He expressed his government commitment to produce quality health, strengthen agriculture and his government commitment to support the women.

Jerending Sanyang, newly appointed APRC executive member speaking at the rally said: “when GANU party was formed majority of them were not aware of the party, but Sheikh Tijan came out yesterday and he has this crowd today tell me which party will have that in this country.”

“Many parties want the APRC to join them but Jammeh refused, and for Sheikh Tijan been his choice was sudden to newly executive of the APRC, saying Jammeh gave them someone which he took sample from himself which was a surprise for the party,” he said.
