Comium subscribers raise concern over suspension threat

Comium customers have expressed their concern after the Public Utility Regulatory Authority (PURA)  issued Comium mobile GSM operator a fortnight ultimum to pay D69.1 million debt.

Speaking to The Voice, Momodou Jawo, a decade old customer said subscribing to Comium GSM since inception, such news is worrying because other users like him already used to its service.

“What came to my mind when I got the news was to inform my friends and family members who especially call me through my Comium number that I want to change it,” he said.

He said it will be useful if Comium management and PURA have dialogue in order to amicably resolve the issue and reach agreement on the payment plan.

“Imagine how Gambians and non-Gambians will lose their jobs if the company is close. So, PURA should work with them to ensure that Comium company pays its debts instead of closing it,” he said.

Another Customer Amie Fatty also added that everything is working fine. But if the issue is not resolved they might look at option B. Adding that it might lead to some complications to the users in their businesses but they have no other choice.

“Every situation has a solution depending on how you tackle it and customer satisfaction plays a key role in every company,” she said.

She attested that Comium is among the biggest and cheapest GSM companies in The Gambia and therefore the issue should be resolved as soon as possible. Also, PURA should extend the due date if possible. “Despite the situation, loyal customers will still stay with the company no matter what happens.”

Ebrima Ceesay also shared his thoughts saying that he is using all the services of Comium and they are fast. “I don’t know what causes the debt but financial constraints are normal, and besides we are still in the pandemic and everyone is affected one way or another,”

“I am optimistic that my favourite GSM will tackle this issue and make customers feel at ease and comfortable because I cannot afford to miss my contacts, especially my business partners,” he explained.
