Police beef up sensitisation on crime prevention

Police continue to beef up their nationwide sensitisation tour on how to prevent crime and its related activities in the country as the countdown for December poll approaches.

The tour seeks to equip students and teachers with the requisite knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviour on the promotion of peace, security, stability and social cohesion as well as build their resilience levels to contribute effectively to curbing crime through information sharing with the Police.

“Sensitization of schools on Crime Prevention Techniques Continues as the Regional Commissioner for LRR, Lamin Banda, leads the team. On Tuesday 13th July, 2021, the Regional Police Commissioner LRR, Operation Commander and the Station Officer at Jarra Soma embarked on a sensitization visit to Soma Upper and Senior Secondary Schools.

“The aim of the activity is to equip students and teachers with the requisite knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviour on the promotion of peace, security, stability and social cohesion as well as build their resilience levels to contribute effectively to curbing crime through information sharing with the Police,” police statement disclosed.

“The event was a success as the school administrations; teachers and students were extremely appreciative of the gesture from the Police and urged the Police Commissioner LRR to rollout similar engagements throughout the region. CP Lamin Banda and his team’s next port of call today is Nioro Jattaba Upper Basic School,” it added.
