The Head of Corporate and Public Affair of The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) has called on the Senegalese authority to be conscious of the Ecowas protocols and fair enough toThe Gambiarather than attempt to frustrateMalians from doing trading with The Gambia.

According to Mr. OusmanBah Gambia and Mali are all sovereignstates, which Senegalese authority has no right to determine who The Gambiashould do business with as far as Ecowas protocols is concern.

He made this Statement in an exclusively interview with this medium in his office last week.

According to Mr. Bah, Senegalese misbehaviour towards imposing certain non-tariff is uncalled for and is not in align with the Ecowas Protocols. This he alleged is just to frustrate the two brotherly countries from doing business.

He disclosed that as far as the ECOWAS Protocols are concern, the Senegalese authority   cannot determine who should the Gambia do business with.“We have right to do business with any country of our choice “as a Sovereignty State.

The GRA Head of Corporate explained that all what Senegal Authority should do is to respect the ECOWAS protocols.

Whatever, he said The Gambia will launch all avenues to resolve this unfortunate situation of transit trade barriers between Gambia and Senegal to ensure good working business relationship with the Malians. He said one of the objectives is to eliminate all unnecessary non–tariff Barriers and allow the free movement of goods and services within the corridors of the sub region.

The Gambia, he emphasised, will continue to persuade the transit trade matters between the Gambia, Mali and Senegal and they should be fair enough with the Gambia as the economy dependsone another.

He noted thatthere is no country that can successfully attain its meaningful development goal without trade. Therefore, since all countries have signed the ECOWAS protocols, there is a need to adhere to it without any disregard.
