Barra Police Station boosted with computers plus internet

A Gambian philanthropist based in United State of America on Monday donated five desktop computers, WIFI, printer and by extension carry out face lifting of the Barra Police Station to enhance the officials good service delivery.

The support according to the donor was aimed to give back to the society saying strengthening capacity of security is a worthy course.

Presentation of the items was held at Barra Police Station, North Bank Region.

Dembo Trawally, Deputy Police Commissioner at Barra Division said the support would obviously enhance effective service delivery and help to ensure proper documentation and reporting.

He noted that the police high command has open door policy of partnering with genuine philanthropist to boost up security.

DPC Trawally hailed Hasimu Jallow for the foresight in repainting the police station while the computers would enhance staff capacity. He noted that the WIFI internet facility would help officers and staffs to learn best practices that gear towards improving performance.

Hasimu Jallow, the donor described police roles as important and supporting them with equipment and internet facility would ease communication and timely submission of reports among them.

The philanthropist uses the moment to call on others to support government in the drive to strengthen security and boost socioeconomic development.

Alagie Faye alkalo of Barra and Edrisa Njie representative of chief of Lower Nuimi said the donation of computers, network printer and internet demonstrated citizens commitment to the security

. Isatou Bah on behalf of her family disclosed that the donor earlier provided furniture to Kerewan Samba Sira Lower Basic School and carry out renovation works at the kitchen Essau Lower Basic School at a cost of D90,000

She described the donor as someone who that concerned with the wellbeing of others. The presentation was witnessed by security heads and officers at Barra Police Station
