BAC disburses over half million dalasi to communities

If everything is to go by, Brikama Area Council (BAC) under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman worth Commendable  for responding positively to the needs and aspiration of their  electorates in the West Coast Region WCR.

This development came as a result of the Council disbursement of over half a million dalasi support to various Communities in ensuring that they have access to electricity and water expansion in West Coast Region.

The presentation held at the council ground was graced by the Governor of WCR and top management of the Council on Wednesday 10th February, 2021.

The presentation was geared towards empowering and responding to the need and aspiration of the Council taxpayer’s value for money.

Giving the breakdown of the disbursed fund by an official of the BAC, the council disbursed D614,000 to three communities within the West Coast Region. This will help to facilitate the implementation of communities driven initiatives on water and electricity expansion and it was presented to Sarembelly cluster of siffoe, Temasu – Harryalla and Wayeto cluster of Lamin and Bakary Sambuya village.

Speaking at the Presentation on the rationale behind this project the CEO of the BAC Mr. Modou Jonga highlighted that the intervention in this communities followed a formal request received from the communities and through assessment of the need for this services in the beneficiary’s communities.

He noted that the support is consistent with strategies, priority one of provision expansion of water and electricity supply and strategy priority five support to boost economic and social activities of the council strategies plan 2020 to 2024.

For his part the chairman of the council Honorable Sherifo Sonko assured his office selfless commitment in addressing the plight of the communities.

Also speaking at the presentation was the Governor of West Coast Region who dilated on the importance of the presentation which gears toward supporting communities to have access to electricity and water.

Governor Lamin Sanneh commended the council for giving back to its communities, while advised the beneficiaries to take great care of the project that would surely change their life as water is an essential element in human survival.

Yusupha Gomez thanked the management of BAC for responding constantly to the wellbeing of their communities and encouraged the council to continue with the good work.
