Gambia Moral Congress leader emerged first opposition to congratulate The Gambian leader Adama Barrow for forming his own political party  called National People’s Party.

NPP was officially launched on Saturday.

Mai Ahmed Fatty, who served as an advisor to President Barrow, described the launch of National People’s Party as the nation’s growing trend of democracy.

“The birth of NPP plus new entrants, demonstrate this growing trend. It was the turn of the NPP to officially launch its own party last Saturday. We welcome them into the arena and further congratulate them for conducting a peaceful event. Now, let us level the playing field and make it a contest of competitive ideas, not a confrontation. The Gambia will be better and our democracy shall be the winner. GMC is ready to lead, and The Gambia is ready for our leadership,” he said.

“Together, it’s possible. Thank you Gambia for embracing our politics of morality to restore the balance. Thank you, Gambia, for keeping us leading. We stretch our hands of friendship and solidarity to all, as many of you genuinely respond to our message of progress, compassion and inclusion. A new dawn is imminent – a revolutionary era of reforms, rectification and sustainable prosperity,” he added.
