MoBSE Hails Banjulunding for their Community Participation

Basic education minister on behalf of her sector hailed the Community of Banjulunding in Region Two, West Coast Region for their participation in the affairs of their children’s education.

Claudiana A. Cole made this remarks on Thursday while attending a meeting with the Community of Banjulunding at Banjulunding Upper Basic and Senior Secondary Schools.

Organized by Banjulunding community in collaboration with SMC members of the school where they tabled some of the challenges confronting the UBS/SSS and Lower Basic schools before minister Cole.

In responding to their plight, Minister Cole assured them that her ministry will look into their plight. “Some of the concerns put before me are significant to my sector,” MoBSE minister explained.

She expressed her appreciation to the Community for inviting her to a discussion that is dear to her ministry, adding that it is her ministry’s desire to satisfied all the schools under her ministry, while stating that community participation is crucial in educational affairs.

“But by looking at the number of schools under my ministry, it would be difficult to meet that desire. We don’t want to left behind any school when it comes to school development and our priority is to see every child have access to quality education,” minister informed.

Madam Cole is appreciative of the school administration for always engaging the community about the way SIG is utilize in the school. She also urged the school administration to maintenance some of the broken chairs and tables for use in the classrooms rather than leaving them scattering in the school campus.

Lamin Jarjue outlined some of the challenges facing Banjulunding UBS/SSS and Lower Basic school like, computer and Science labs, technical workshops, proper classroom buildings among others.

Vice Principal (1) at Banjulunding UBS/SSS, Dodou A. Bojang and VDC chairman, Habibou Dumbuya all spoke at the meeting. Minister later visited Banjulunding Lower Basic School.
