NPP Gets One MP, One Ward Councillor

National Peoples’ Party (NPP), candidate Birom JS Sowe defeated Democratic Congress (GDC), Birom Sowe on Saturday in a by-election to fill the vacant seat  of National Assembly Member for Niamina West.

President Adama Barrow’s National Peoples’ Party (NPP) candidate Sowe obtained 1718 of ballot casts while Mama Kandeh Democratic Congress (GDC) candidate Jallow acquired 805.

In the same development, in Kerr Jarga, Jokadu, NPP’s Awa Gaye also defeated APRC, UDP and GDC opponents in the Ward Councillorship by-election. “I congratulate the National People’s Party -NPP for winning the Niamina West Constituency and Kerr Jarga Council elections,” the president wrote on his official Facebook page.

NPP’s duo candidates of Birom Sowe and Awa Gaye convincingly thrashed their opponents in the Niamina West parliamentary and Kerr Jarga council by-elections elections.
