Trial of a Senegalese man accused of being a gay on Wednesday faced a setback at the Kanifing Magistrates’ court after a witness failed to testify due to health complication.

Few minutes upon calling up the case, magistrate M.S. Jallow of Kanifing adjourned the case to November 11 at 11:00am. Mr Jai is believed to be in remand.

According to the particulars of offence, Mustapha Jai sometimes in the month of June, 2020, at kolloli and diverse places within the jurisdiction of the Kanifing Magistrates Court in the republic of the Gambia attempted to have ‘unnatural sex with Hamza Jah.’

He first appeared before the lower court on October 21 and charged with trying to commit unnatural offence. But he however denied the allegations.
