Darusalam Youths Development Association cleans community ahead of rain

The Kalipha General who doubles as alkalo of Darusalam of Lower Badibou, North Bank Region has underscored the importance youths and women can play to attain sustainable health for all.

Alh. Sikia Darboe on Sunday commended massive cleansing exercise organised by youths to clear all dump sites and filling of potholes ahead of rain, with the ultimate objective to boost health and avoid hazards.

The Khalifa General hailed Governor Ebrima K.S. Dampha and Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh of Lower Badibou for participating in the cleansing exercise and reassured government support programs in the fight against COVID19.

Omar Darboe chairman of Youth Association reiterated the need for more support for women in providing labour saving devices, citing rice and coos milling machines to reduce drudgery and post-harvest loss.

He commended Fatou Janko, village health services for promoting health, hygiene and exclusive breastfeeding.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha commended the youth’s association for spearheading the development initiative and hailed them for championing quality health care.
Governor Dampha noted clearing of dumpsites and filling of potholes would facilitate free flow of runoff water and reduce malaria cases. He assured his office fullest support and call on youths to be law abiding.

Chief Fabala Fadia Kinteh of Lower Badibou expressed satisfaction on high level of community participation in attaining health for all.
He urged for closer collaboration and networking.

Lamin Saidy, Regional Disaster Management Coordinator said the move would help to reduced disasters and resilience building.
Fabakary Drammeh, village health worker also commended women for regular attending clinic, breastfeeding practice, hygiene and sanitation.

Fatoumata Barrow recognized Ministry of health for creating more awareness on the health of children from immunization, nutritional supplementation, exclusive breastfeeding, hygiene and sanitation, noting that this has help mothers to address malnutrition and health
