“I call on the government and the entire system not to interfere in the professional administration of social security and housing cooperation or politicize the institution.

The focus of this government should be to drastically reverse the serious damage already done to the public civil service sector with plans to restructure and re-equip and no to consolidate the status quo,” he wrote.

Mr Fatty’s comment came after recent mass redeployment of senior government civil servants and parastatal by President Adama Barrow.

He wrote further that “I have had reasonable opportunity to further reflect deeply on the overall governance in the country. I will however summarily comment on our exceptional issues: Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation in many aspects.”

According to him, Muhammed Manjang did a phenomenal job and he commends him for it. In terms of performance and standard, his bequest to the new Managing Director and Management is very significant for enhancement of the institution.

He described the appointment of Abdoulie Tambadou , the new managing director of the institution as encouraging while citing series of institutional performance he has brought when serving as the MD at the Gambia Port Authority (GPA) including the Gambia Public Printing Authority (GPPA).

He said the new Managing Director of the institution is a season manager, very competent and highly professional. He said Tambedou inherited a weak institution at Ports Authority but turned it around to profitability with sound management variables.

Meanwhile, Muhammed Manjang, former managing director of SSHFC was redeployed to the Senegalo-Gambia-permanent Secretariat but he however turned down the offer and resigned.
