Kanifing Municipal Council has clarified their stand over Bakau Alkaloship as the Jaiteh Kunda accused the director of administration failure to verify the yard owner listings with the record of Yard Owners at the Rates Office as they don’t want false information to divide Bakau.

In an exclusive interview Dembo S. Sanneh, administrative director of Kanifing Municipal Council, said what scrutiny they are going to do now, so if both parties are having similar problems obviously can’t do anything on that.

The letter was given to them to seek the consent of the community, as Jaiteh kunda had 100 plus while the Bojang Kunda have 200 plus adding that the letter was summited to the ministry the very day it was brought it, he added.

He explained that during the acquisition between both family National Assembly Members were called, two council from Bakau,  as a form was given to each, for them to see how best they can resolve the issue.

According to him, whether both parties have access to each other’s form, if not how can that be verify, so due to that problem there should be no delay.

He stated that, he didn’t want any election on this issue and they didn’t play any role in that part, adding that if they have a doubt that people name is on that list who were not yard owners let them give the names of those individuals.

“As they don’t want to interfere is the people of  Bakau who spoke saying fairness is  difficult for people to talk about and in every battle there must be a winner and a looser, in this circumstance both parties are related to him so he cannot play any role in it other than being fair,” he stated.

However, after the 40-day charity of the late alkalo, KMC sent forms to list of Yard Owners at Bakau to the aspiring candidates. which the form include name, identification card/voters card number, telephone number and signature as this process was supposed to be overseen by the National Assembly Member (NAM) and the Councilor for Bakau.

under the overall coordination of the Director of Administration of KMC, and two contenders were Suruwa B Wawa Jaiteh and Dodou Bojang, as the list was submitted on January 21st, 2020, and Dodou Bojang was said to have listed more than 200 yard owners compare to Suruwa B Wawa Jaiteh who has 118 yard owners which seem unfair to the members of Jaiteh Kunda.
