Director, MAJAC assures of Support to MoBSE CU

MAJAC Director at Media Academy for Journalism and Communication (MAJAC) assured the officials at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education’s (MoBSE) Communication Unit that his institution will be ready to offer support to their Unit anytime they needs his office services.

Mr. Sang Mendy made this assurance on Thursday when officials from MoBSE Communication Unit led by the Unit Head, Mrs. Emily Gomez made a courtesy called to Mr. Mendy in his office in Bakau Newtown last week as part of the Unit continue familiarization visit to various  institutions to forge partnership.

“As Communication officers, you have many stories to relate to the general public especially education sector and your images should be seen by public by updating them (public) on correct information within your ministry,” Mr. Mendy advised.

He advised MoBSE CU officers to be familiar with social media platform so that they can easily relate information of concern to the general public at right time.

He explained to them that their role within the ministry is of paramount important and having training on mobile reporting will help them a lot in their work.

The Head of the MoBSE Communication Unit, Mrs. Emily Gomez explained to Mr. Mendy that her Unit visit to his academy was a continue visit which her Unit is currently undertaking at other institutions.

“The main purpose of our visit is to introduce ourselves to you and also to discuss with you about the way forward for partnership between your academy and my Unit among others,” Mrs. Gomez explained.

According to Mrs. Gomez, partnering with MAJAC will her Unit officers learn a lot from them as some of the Unit officers never work in media institutions before.

Mrs. Gomez in her on word said: “Learning is never late for anyone especially and MAJAC as media institution will serve as our God father and that her Unit is looking forward for a fruitful partnership between the two institutions”.

Both the Print Media Editor and Broadcast Producer at MoBSE CU, Baba S. Touray and Momodou Saidou Jallow hailed Mr. Mendy for the good work his institution is doing.
