Police Nab 5

Police have arrested five suspects who are alleged to have conducted series on attack within the greater Banjul area including robberies on petrol stations like Jah Oil petrol and Gambia National Petroleum Company in Abuko.

The suspects are helping the police in their investigations. They numbered ten but only five have been so far nabbed by the police.

Speaking at a news conference at police headquarters in Banjul, police spokesman ASP Lamin Njie commended efforts played by the police investigation team saying “the suspect who are now detained at the police headquarters in Banjul awaiting possible trial.”

“The suspects are currently helping the police in their investigations to establish the fact of the incident [and] legal actions will be taking against the suspects and they will be arraigned before a competent court of jurisdiction following the conclusion of the investigation,” he added.

Assistant Inspector General of Police and Crime Management Coordinator, Demba Sowe assured the public about their safety as part of their mandate but caution the public to always take necessary precautions in order to avoid being harm by criminals.
