BFoTG to Distributes 40-foot Container Items to 14 Institutions

A fully loaded 40-foot container which arrived in the country over the weekend with School, Health, Agricultural, Garden and showing items will be distributed to 14 institutions and students under the Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG) sponsorship package this week.

According to the chairman of the Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG), Patrick de Vos, the presentation of the School items will commence on Wednesday at Siffoe Lower and Upper Basic Schools in West Coast Region.

Asked about the number of students under their sponsors’, Mr. Vos said currently they are sponsoring 375 students from Nursery to senior secondary schools levels in West Coast Region and Kanifing Municipality.

This year he went on, they came with a group of ten (10) Belgian nationals who study difference academic fields adding that during their two weeks stay in the country, they will inspect their sponsor’s School projects under their sponsorship,” Mr. Vos revealed.

He gave the names of the schools whose students are under their sponsorship are as follows: Jambangjelly Nursery and Upper Basic Schools, Siffoe Lower and Upper Basic Schools, New Yundum Lower Basic School, New Yundum Health Center and New Yundum tailoring shop all in the West Coast Region.

Bakoteh Senior Secondary School, Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic School, Bakoteh Proper Lower Basic School, Nyodema Nursery School, Latri-kunda Upper Basic School, St. Therese’s Lower Basic School and visit to Widdar Nursery School all within the Kanifing Municipality (KM).

Mr. Vos expressed his organization’s sincere thanks and appreciation to the officials at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE), the heads of various institutions under their sponsorship for their usual understanding and cooperation with them for past the years.

He assured of his organization’s readiness to uplift the well-being of Gambians more especially the future leaders of the country whose future need to be well prepared before getting into the leadership status.
