Trust Bank Donates Item Worth D200,000 to Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Trust Bank Limited (TBL) Tuesday, November 5th donated some items worth two hundred thousand dalasis (D200,000.00) to Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital, Salagi.

Among items donated as requested for the hospital by the management include detergent, washing machine, plumbing and electrical materials.

Prior the donation of the items, Ibrahima Salla, Managing Director of Trust Bank Limited thanked the management of Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital for given TBL the opportunity to contribute the psychiatric hospital to make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable in the society.

The bank Managing Director tagged and described the hospital a “longtime friend,” adding that such event linked to the TBL Corporate Social Responsibility objective of “bringing hope where there is despair.”

He used the opportunity to highlight on the bank CSR program which is grounded on the principles of sharing and caring as the donation was a great way to give back to communities.

He went further that, the presentation has demonstrated the love and generosity of TBL family to the patients and staff of Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital. The “generosity of the Trust Bank family,” he said “reveals a Bank that has embedded a commitment to the creation of shared values at the heart of what binds us together.”

He described mental health challenge as one of the most critical health problems and probably amongst the least understood, as it affects more and more people. Adding to that he said it causes untold suffering to the families of the afflicted and a drawback to human resources and as well constitutes a financial drain upon both the public and personal family finances.

MD Salla however assured them of further strengthening the relationship between TBL and Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital which started years ago while TBL’s team is looking forward to visit the hospital again.

On behalf of the Board of directors of Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Kebba Sanneh, PRO – EFSTH thanked the management of TBL for their regular support and donation to Tanka Tanka. He said the bank always come to their aid to complement the efforts of the government.

As Corporate Social Responsibility is concerned, he commended TBL again on the gesture while using the opportunity to call on some other institutions to imitate the bank and contribute to the health care of the country.

Ajie Lemon, deputy director at EFSTH, the acting matron at Tanka Tanka among others commented on the donation. Among other officials of the EFSTH and Trust Bank Limited, Alex Alassan Gomez, Head of Marketing witnessed the event.
