GAF Training on ‘Mounting and Dismounting Vehicles Underway

Gambia Armed Forces yesterday started a four weeks training in collaboration with Germans military Team on Peace Support Operations on manoeuvres on mounting and dismounting vehicles under IED threats.

The overall objective of it is to equip the Soldiers and build the military troops on how they can protect themselves from terrorist attacks.

Lieutenant Fechtner, commander of the Military Train Adviser, said the main focus of the training is to protect the soldiers and the environment.

He explained that, the Demonstrations that were conducted in the ground was about patrol, adding how to hunt enemies.

“The training includes lot of young Officers which I am proud of,” he said.

He pointed out that, the German Military Team brought their experience to the Gambia, to add it with that of the Gambia Armed Force which will assist in finding durable solutions.

Brigadier General Ramatoulie DK Sanneh, Adjutant General of GAF, said this training is key which enhances to build the Military troops capacity and to expose them to many skills. She urges the trainees to make best use of the training, adding  that  “as the slogan said; you fight hard, train hard and fight easy”

Lieutenant Abdoulie Faal, described the training as significant because it focuses on them, how they can protect their troops and the entire civil population.

“For example an explosion can be planted by terrorist, which might cause many lives, so we been taught on how to take care of such situations in other to protect ourselves and Nation,” he noted.
