Africell, The Gambia biggest GSM network has launched and inaugurated Super Nawettant Zonal 2019 with cash price of D200,000 for the winner, D100,000 for runner-off and D50,000 for the third place.
On Tuesday, the company launched what management describes as the first event biggest zonal football competition in the country. The winner of the 2019 Africell fully sponsor zone will go home with D200, 000, runner-off D100, 000 and D50, 000 for the third place. In its effort for the organizing committees and teams to be well prepare for the competition the country biggest GSM provider also support each organizing committee with D200, 000 and each team with D20, 000.
The 20 team each teams also received two set of jersey’s from Africell. The 2019 zonal will be open by Serrekunda vs Bakau.
Musa Sise Head of Corporate Affairs and Media Consultant at Africell, said “it is done by one single individual company unique, impacted, affective in everything that is Gambian, especially our sport and that’s what we here to launched”
He said Africell over the years has supported impact, encourage and help youths of the country on what they want to become, saying that “we all know what Nawettan meant to us.”
Sise also urged for a free violence Zonal, while he cautioned team managers and players uphold peace throughout the competition.
According to him, sponsoring the first ever zonal by the Gambia’s biggest GSM company is part of the company policy by giving back to the people’s, saying that is not the first and the company is always proud to supports.
Chairman of the Super Nawettan (Zonal) Organising committee and 2nd vice president Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Mr. Lang Tombong Tamba disclosed that his collaboration with Africell paves a long way, that it started 20yrs ago.
‘’All I can say is that Africell have been fulfilling its responsibilities towards supporting Sports in the Gambia’’ he said.
He explains that, in 2008 Africell contributed immensely to secured best Coach Paul Put ,revealing recently Nawettan team in Greatest Banjul benefitted from Africell and “today over20 zonal teams seated here will also benefit from the benevolence of Africell.’’
He commented Africell for their immense support and contributions to supports and also to GFF.
