Baba F. Trawally, Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia has called on the youth of the Jama’at to always serve as good ambassadors of peace.
Amir Trawally was speaking on Sunday at the conclusion of the three day youth conference organised by the Jamaat at Tahir Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School in Mansakonko in Lower River Region.
According to him, peace is a gift from Allah the Almighty in which he bestowed on us and without it there cannot be such kind of gathering.
“We cannot succeed individually and collectively without peace, so for that reason, as youth, we are the cream of any society. I urge you all to safeguard and preserve the peace we were all enjoying. Do not associate any group or individual who were bent to distabilise and put the nation in to ablase. If you fail in this drive, our children, grand children and generations yet unborn will not forgive us”
Amir also emphasized on the need to be respectful to authority in whatever for. Be honest and respectful to our leaders be it village, town, school or whatever level.
Earlier on Friday, in his opening remarks, the President of the youth wing Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia Mr Bilal Jawo admonishes the youth to always show their true characters in serving the nation which will enable them greater prosperity and progress if only they know.
“Your characters and actions, he continued, were not only a presentation of your own-self but the actual representation of Ahmadiyyat and that of the nation. Be therefore upright in your dealings and serve the nation with distinction, honesty and sincerity,”
“We are in a world full of many temptations be it good or bad. So let us be careful with people we make friends with. Do not be carried away by the influence of the world and I admonish you to obey your parents and the people placed in authority. Do not rebel against your leaders as rebellion has no place in Islam. Obey your parents and be respectful to them and show them love as well. Remember that soon you would expect some kind of treatment from your children” Sadr Bilal Jawo.
Landing Sanneh, Chairman of Mansakonko Area Council said Islam is a peaceful religion and therefore urged the youth to use their religion to propagate peace.
He added that: “Young people he said must appreciate each other and capitalise on the opportunities available to them to make meaningful impact in life. As a young man myself, I am very much happy to be associated with you in this very important gathering and I have confident that the three day event would be so useful to all of you,”
Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya is a youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat aged 15-40 years. The National Ijtema or Convention is held annually and this is the 35th of its kind which attracted over 700 youth across the country.
