Suspended   CEO, Finance Director Still on KMC Payroll

Suspended Chief Executive Office Pa Kalifa Sanyang and finance director Juana Hall of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) are still on payrolls while the current CEO Jaja Cham and finance director Sheriff Njie are also on KMC payroll for the same positions, official sources confirmed to The Voice.

Sources said the two senior officials continues to received salaries, despite their send on forced leave by the Council, adding that Sanyang and Hall received their salaries through their banks.

“We are confuse, because we are paying  two CEO and two finance directors every month and the job is done  by  Cham and Njie,” said a frustrated senior financial officer at KMC who spoke with The Voice on condition  of  anonymity.

In 2018 KMC Mayor elect, Talib Bensouda stated that Council wrote to the Ministry of Regional Government informing the ministry that, CEO Pa Kalifa Sanyang and the finance director Juana Hall, who were send on forced leave, will not be accepted back.

Sanyang and Hall were asked to go on leave by the then interim management KMC Council for alleged incompetence.

However, Mr Sanyang   responded to those allegations by accusing the Bakary Jammeh committee of cooking up a “grossly erroneous report… replete with lies and distortions” and not a true reflection of the state of affairs at the KMC”.

In his first press conference after   100 days in office, Mayor Talib Bensouda said after reviewing the report of the interim committee they adopted the findings and informed the ministry that the council will not accept the return of the two officials.
