KAC, GAMWORKS Handed Over Contracts for Construction Sub Treasury and Car Park

Kerewan Area Council and GAMWORKS on Tuesday handed over three contracts to different contractors for the construction of sub Treasury office complex in Ndungu Kebbeh Lower Nuimi, construction of story building to accommodate Sub Treasury and guest house in Farafenni and construction of Kaur Car Park in Farafenni.

The contractors A+A architects consulting firm is supervising the implementation of the contract alongside the contractors.

The projects are part of rural infrastructure development project, which is funded by OPEC Fund for International development and GAMWORKS will supervise the implementation of the projects.

The three companies contracted are namely; Jarjue Kunda Enterprise, Touba AKC Enterprise and AK Construction Company.

The handing over of three sites were attended by the regional Governor Ebrima KS Dampha, Chairman of Kerewan Area Council, community members, beneficiaries including drivers, transport union members and ward councillors.

Speaking at various sites, Malamin IL Bojang chairman of Kerewan Area Council underscored the important the council attaches in providing conducive work environment to enhance productivity and make services easily accessible to tax payers.

He noted that the construction of guest house for the council would help in generating more resources to respond to the development needs of tax payers.

He said the construction of Kaur car garage, demonstrate council commitment of giving back to transport union and drivers, describing them as good partners to Kerewan Area Council.

Governor Ebrima KS Dampha lauded Kerewan Area Council and GAMWORK for the foresight of building infrastructures for tax payers to improve their livelihood.

He calls on beneficiaries to desist from all forms of tribalism, noting that people should develop the spirit of nationalism and bring about sustainable development.

Governor Dampha handed over a cheque of D300, 000 to GAMWORK as part of counterpart contribution for the sub projects to be implemented by GAMWORK.NBR

He reiterated government commitment of all inclusive participation in advancing the country development aspiration in attaining National Development Plan.

Seedy Touray Chief Executive Officer of Kerewan Area Council disclosed that his office made advance payment of D1.5 million for the three projects to GAMWORK.

He commended former Councillor for Medina ward Mamat Faye of Ndungu Kebbeh for providing men for the construction of the project.

He urged for timely payment of rates and taxes to enable council to bring development to the door step of tax payers.

CEO Touray  KAC Chief Executive Officer launches an further urged drivers to cooperate with the contractor to ensure smooth implementation of project.

GAMWORK project manager Furu Gomez assured his agency commitment to partner with local council on the successful implementation of rural infrastructure development project to improve lives and livelihood.

He commended the council commitment of fulfilling their mandate with GAMWORK.

Meanwhile, the management of Farafenni transport union are delighted for the intervention of Kerewan Area Council and GAMWORK for the construction of Kaur Car Park in Farafenni.

Kitim Dibba President of the transport union commended Kerewan Area Council noting that the  car park management are committed to the welfare of drivers and passengers.

Samba Njie Chef de Garage of Kaur Car park assured of collaboration with the contractor to ensure smooth execution of projects.

The handing over of contract to AK Construction Company to kick start work was highly welcome by drivers and car park management committees.
