Turkey Police Trained 30 Gambian Police in VIP Protection

At least 30 Gambian Police personnel have completed ten days intensive training in VIP protection ahead of the Organization of Islamic Conference which is due in 2019.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the PIU headquarter in Kanifing; Landing Bojang said the training would be productive in providing security of the country.

“I would like to register that; the training would go a long way in enhancing our policing strengths,” he said.

Bojang, who double as an Assistant Superintendent added that: “These officers are with the skills to ensure a successful OIC summit in our beautiful country.  A high profile event like the OIC will involve the movement of dignitaries in and out of the country.”

He also expressed delight that the officers have received the very best instructions, adding that he has no doubt that the officers would make the best use of the training.

He also commended the IGP and the Minister of Interior through his ministry for the static foresight and leadership.

“Policing everywhere requires continue training to keep track with change trends of crime and criminality. On this notes, we always welcome capacity building programs for all categories of the police force.”

Famara Touray, Superintendent Officer Commandant of Mobile Unit, described the training as very importance while commended their counterpart force of Turkey for the training.

H.E Ismail Safa Yuceer, Turkish Ambassador, expressed gratitude about the training.

According to him, this is the starting and promised that there are more opportunities for the security of the country. He urged the trainees to make best use of the knowledge they have gained so far.
