Saad M Raslan International Trading Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Saad M Raslan International Trading Company Limited has celebrated it twenty-five years in existence in The Gambia and launched new products, held in Kairaba Avenue Kanifing Municipality.

Speaking at the celebration vice president Ousainou Darboe, commended the company and that it has been contributing to the socio economic development of the country since its in 1993.

“The company had invested about five hundred million dalasi in the country as mention in the fishing industry as well as the furniture business. This is not a company that came to the country just for the sake of making profits and sent its income in abroad,” he said.

VP Darboe said the primary objective of the company is to contribute to the economic advancement of the country and assured the support of his government to welcoming the investment of the company.

He said: “The President Barrow’s government development agenda had place particular emphasis on the role of the private sector in driving the economics of the country.”

Also speaking included the managing director of the company, Hatim Embaraslan, who said The Gambia is the first country where he commenced his investment.

According to him, part of his objective is contributing to the development of the country and complementing the effort of the government.

“The last ten years was difficult for us, just like many business companies in the Gambia under the former regime. The business was unfriendly and very challenging and that resulted in our company to be downside and slow down the new project,” he noted.

He disclosed that his role in the smiling coast of West Africa will be to promote small scale enterprise in the country as well as to encourage potential investors to come to the nation for business purposes.

“I have the moral to set an example for other so as they practice what I always preach them [investors], that why I came with this new project,” he noted.

Abodoulie Jammeh, representative for the ministry of trade described the lunching of the new project as a step in the right direction in enhancing the Kanifing Municcipality’s economic and the nation as a whole.

He said the government is continuing in complementing series of economic and institutional reforms to greater efficiency of the public service as well as ensuring economic stability.
