Akinrogun Victor Adewale, a tribal Yoruba man has slammed self-declaration as a Yoruba king in the Diaspora without the due process to the kingship as dubious.

“If someone declared himself as Yoruba King in the Diaspora without passing through any Yoruba traditional lines, heritage or no approval from any Councilor of Yoruba King in Nigeria is tantamount to dubious Act,” he said in an exclusive interview with The Voice.

He added that: “We did not welcome “Fake Yoruba Kings title in Diaspora” and no Yoruba People in any part of the World should just wake-up and Crowned himself as Yoruba King in the Diaspora which if anyone does it, he has done a wrong thing.”

He urged his tribal men and women to disown and never listen to any of such kings, describing them as so-called Kings.

According to him, they (the Yorubas) are not fighting anyone but they are educating their tribal men and women in the Diaspora to desist from such a person.

However, clarifying what OPU means, he explained that: “ it means Odua Progressive Union”, toting that it is a global organization operating in 84 countries, adding that the organization was formed within seven years.

The benefit includes is for Yoruba people to know each other through the platform of OPU worldwide. It enables all the Yoruba sons and daughters to identify their root. It also enables them to interact as sons and daughters of Yoruba ethnic group worldwide, he stated.

“Back home in Nigeria, we have decided to build an Odua Progressive Union Estate (OPUE) and the founder of OPU was Dr. Otunba Gani Adams, who is the 15th Are Ona Kankanfo of chieftaincy tittle in Yoruba tribes in Nigeria,” he said.

OPU was founded in 2011 by Dr. Otunba Gani Adams in UK and he has the highest Chieftaincy title in Yoruba Land
