Boniface Mangy, 34, ambassador for African Rising has said that he is hopeful that the African continent will be united sooner than what some people expect because the United State of Africa will be achieved before forty years to come.
“The African continent will be united sooner; when we have younger African leaders who are thinking like the Ethiopian President; then there is possibility of having “The United State of Africa” soon,” he told The Voice in an interview shortly after the launching of African Rising national engagement space in Senegambia Beach Hotel on 23rd November, 2018.
He added: “The former Pan African failed to achieve the African Unity because there were a lot of dictatorship governments among the former Pan Africans and now very few African countries are currently experiencing dictatorship.”
It can be recalled that the African leaders’ set-up a strategy plan call Africa 2063 agenda but Professor Lumumba, an African philosopher opined that the Africa should be united by 2063 to ensure that the continent has one president, one currency, connected roads from all the cardinal direction of the continent.
However, the Kenyan national disclosed that for this long standing goal [United State of Africa] to be attained Pan Africans have to get proper philosophical perceptive in order to embrace peace, justice, equality, accept accountability, and empower women in the fifty- four nations of the continent.
Ambassador Mangy said that the reason of the African continent is not united is because the continent was divided during the colonial era as many countries were controlled by different masters such as the British, French, German among others, adding that the continent’s division by the colonial masters led to divers boundaries resulting to limitation among the African people.
He said that the young Pan Africans are on the verge to bring the youth together in philosophical viewpoint through standard communication in the social media to ensure every African youth get the require information regarding activities and agendas of the continent.
“African Rising whole agenda is to bring the African youth together so as to take the continent forward; thus any one or organization who is interested with us [youth activists] you are welcome,” the youth activist added.
He called on the young Pan Africans as well as all youth activists to re-think to the dreams of Kwame NKrumah of Ghana and other Pan Africans to fight for the unity of the continent and make sure the continent is united but in the contrary the China, Europe, America and among other countries will colonize Africa again because they are competing for the continent.
Mr. Mangy appealed to the African youth who are embarking on irregular migration to Europe to stay home so as to contribute in the development of their countries and Africa at large rather than risking their lives on the route.
Boniface Mangy, 34, is a Kenyan youth activist who always called on African leaders to empower young people, challenging them to avoid corruption and human rights violation to ensure the well being of the masses.
