Upper Badibou Express Commitment to partaking in CR

Illiassa and Farafenni communities in the Upper Badibu District have expressed their commitment to partaking in the constitutional reform building process for the Republic of The Gambia.

Yaya Jagne, a resident of Jimansar village said the Constitutional building process for the country should be an utmost concern for Gambians irrespective of their political, ethnic, geographical and religious affiliations.

“Our communities are desire to participate in the process… this is an opportunity for all Gambians thus to put in ideas that would mold this country into prosperity, peace, progress just to mention few,” he said.

Sulayman Danjang Jammeh, also a resident of Illiassa village commended The Gambia Government through the Justice Ministry for empowering them for the first time in the history of The Gambia to participate in the drafting g of the new Constitution which is the supreme body of all the Laws governing the country.

Kebba Bah from Yonna Village assured of his community’s full participation in the process but urged the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC) and National Council for Civic Education members to do more in order for Gambians to understand the “Issue Document” they circulate to them (the Communities).

Mr. Ebrima Krubally from Kachang village as to when the bigger team leave from Banjul to meet the communities, CRC and NCCE officials informed Mr. Krubally the bigger team will leave Banjul on November 5th 2018 to go round to all the communities we visited before them so as to discuss about the “Issue Document”.

CRC and NCCE officials encourage both Illiassa and Farafenni communities to come out in their large numbers to discuss about their own affairs and that of their future leaders thus failure to do that means they don’t regard for themselves.
