Mai Ahmed Fatty, spokesperson of the National People’s Party (NPP)-led alliance has expressed confidence that President Adama Barrow will secure what he called a “landslide victory” in The Gambia’s December 2026 presidential election.
Speaking in Banjul during the presentation of campaign vehicles by President Barrow to allied political parties, Fatty said the alliance remained united and committed to mobilizing support for the President’s re-election bid.
He described the vehicles as a demonstration of the President’s confidence in the alliance and pledged that coalition members would work to ensure a decisive electoral victory.
Fatty, who is also leader of the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC), predicted that the opposition would suffer a historic defeat in the election.
Also speaking at the event, National Reconciliation Party (NRP) leader Hamat N.K. Bah said the Barrow Administration had maintained sound fiscal discipline, citing reports of the National Audit Office.
Bah also highlighted the government’s achievements in road infrastructure, health and education, arguing that these developments would influence voters to renew President Barrow’s mandate.
He urged recipients of the campaign vehicles to use them effectively to canvass support for the ruling alliance across the country, including in remote communities, stressing that every vote would count in the election.
