AC Milan and Rangers FC opened the 2026 Brufut Nawettan League campaign with an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Group A Matchday 1 encounter played on Sunday at the Starser Football Field.
Rangers FC made a strong start and took the lead in the 10th minute through Alieu Bah, but AC Milan responded eight minutes later after being awarded a penalty.
Lamin Bah stepped up to convert from the spot in the 18th minute to restore parity as both teams continued to push forward in search of another goal.
Despite creating several chances, neither side was able to find a breakthrough before the interval, with the teams heading into halftime level at 1-1.
Rangers FC regained the advantage after the restart when veteran striker Omar Jarju, popularly known as “Bokande”, scored in the 66th minute to put his side ahead.
However, AC Milan fought back immediately, with returning forward Abdou Kadir “Ricardo” scoring the equaliser to secure a point for his team.
Ricardo, who was returning to the Brufut Nawettan after a one-year absence, marked his comeback with a crucial goal as the two sides shared the spoils in an entertaining opening fixture.
The result leaves both teams with a point each as the 2026 Brufut Nawettan League continues.
