Gambian winger Ansumana Sanyang played a decisive role on Tuesday after coming off the bench to help Maccabi Herzliya secure a 4-2 comeback win against Hapoel Kfar Shalem in Israel’s second division.

Maccabi Herzliya were trailing 2-0 in the first half of the match, which is part of their campaign for promotion to the Israeli top flight, before mounting a second-half recovery.

Coach Elad Braown introduced Sanyang in the 78th minute in search of greater attacking impact. The Gambian, nicknamed “Baros,” contributed immediately to the turnaround with his pace and dribbling ability.

Sanyang provided an assist as Maccabi Herzliya reduced the deficit and later scored in stoppage time (90+9) to complete the comeback and seal the 4-2 victory.
