Saateh Ba Crowned Lamin League Champions After Penalty Shootout Victory

Saateh Ba have been crowned champions of the 2025–2026 Lamin Nawettan League after defeating defending champions Kunkujang Jattaya in a dramatic final that was decided on penalties following two fiercely contested encounters.

The final, organised by the Lamin Youths Development Committee and played at the Late Sanna Jatta Memorial Football Field in Lamin, delivered high drama and excitement as both sides battled for supremacy.

In the first match, Saateh Ba took the lead in the first half through a well-coordinated attacking move, but Kunkujang Jattaya equalised just before halftime to make it 1–1.

The second half saw Saateh Ba regain the lead to go 2–1 up, putting them on the verge of victory. However, the defending champions struck late to level the score at 2–2, forcing a replay.

In the replay, Saateh Ba again opened the scoring, converting a first-half penalty to take a 1–0 lead. Kunkujang Jattaya responded before the break to restore parity at 1–1.

Both teams created several chances in the second half but failed to find a winner, sending the match into a penalty shootout.

Saateh Ba eventually triumphed after a tense and extended shootout, securing the title and ending Kunkujang Jattaya’s reign as champions.
