Following the Eid al-Adha celebrations, action resumed in the GFF Baluwo Men’s Division One league, with Steve Biko maintaining their fine form by recording consecutive victories to strengthen their campaign.
Nicknamed the “giant killers,” Steve Biko delivered a solid performance to edge Brikama-based side Greater Tomorrow 1-0 in a tightly contested match played in Bakau.
The decisive moment came in the 19th minute when Yusupha Jammeh calmly converted a penalty to hand Steve Biko the lead, which they held onto until the final whistle.
The victory marks Steve Biko’s second successive win, following their 1-0 triumph over Team Rhino in Week 17, underlining the team’s growing consistency as the league progresses.
Greater Tomorrow, meanwhile, made four changes to their squad following their Week 17 defeat to Fortune FC, with E. Manneh, E. Sowe, E. Cessay and M. Ndow all introduced into the starting line-up. However, the Brikama-based side continued to struggle for form.
They had earlier suffered a 2-1 loss to Fortune FC in Week 17, and the latest defeat increases pressure on the team as they seek to recover in upcoming fixtures.
