Old Yundum District Constitutes New Football Committee

A new executive committee has been elected to oversee football activities in Old Yundum District for the next four years following a congress held over the weekend.

The former president of the Old Yundum District Football Committee, Demba Sanneh, officially announced the dissolution of his executive before delegates on Saturday, paving the way for the election of a new committee to manage football affairs in the district.

Presenting his report at the congress, Mr. Sanneh highlighted the achievements and challenges encountered by his outgoing committee. He noted that endurance and resilience had been key to the successful implementation of initiatives undertaken by previous committees.

He urged the newly elected members to intensify efforts to promote football in the district and to mobilise support for future activities, stressing the importance of securing the necessary resources to organise tournaments and other sporting programmes.

The congress elected the following officials to serve on the new executive committee:

  • Ebrima Jaiteh – President
  • Demba Sanneh – Vice President
  • Ebou Marong – Secretary General
  • Abdoulie Badjie – Assistant Secretary General
  • Yaya Bah – Treasurer
  • Momodou Jabang – Assistant Treasurer
  • Wurry Bah – Organising Secretary
  • Adama Colley – Assistant Organising Secretary
  • Momodou Dambelly – Public Relations Officer
  • Modou Jagne – Technical Director
  • Sulayman Ndow – Assistant Technical Director
  • Abdoulie Touray – Auditor
  • Saikou Jallow – Assistant Auditor

The congress also selected several co-opted members representing different villages within the district to support the work of the committee.

Speaking after his election, the president-elect, Ebrima Jaiteh, who also serves as president of the Wellingara Sports Committee, assured delegates of his team’s commitment to effectively manage football matters in the district.

He reaffirmed his determination to work with stakeholders to further develop and promote football in Old Yundum District.
