The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against TMT on Sunday, extending their lead at the top of the GFF First Division League to four points.

Substitute Sulayman Faal converted a 90th-minute penalty to rescue a point for GPA at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. TMT had taken an early lead in the fifth minute through captain Yahya Ndong, who headed in a cross from Ebrima Fofana. GPA struggled to create clear chances until the 95th minute when TMT goalkeeper Yusupha Sanyang mishandled a bouncing ball, allowing Hasim Badjie to get a toe on it. Sanyang then fouled Badjie in the area, earning a second yellow card and leaving TMT with ten men.

In other fixtures, Bombada Football Club defeated Brikama United 1-0 in a tense derby. Lamin Colley’s goal two minutes into the second half proved decisive, lifting Bombada to third place in the standings.

Meanwhile, BST Galaxy was held to a goalless draw by Hart FC at the Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum. The best chance of the match fell to the home side, but a last-ditch challenge from Hart defender Karimu Darboe denied Omar Jabang a scoring opportunity.

After the first round of matches, newly promoted GPA leads the league with 28 points, four ahead of Hart, Bombada, Real De Banjul, and Fortune Football Club. The Gambian Dutch Lions are sixth with 20 points, followed by Brikama United, Hawks FC, and Falcons FC on 19 points. Team Rhino, Medina United, and Greater Tomorrow have 18 points each, while BST Galaxy sits on 17 points, TMT 15, and both Samger and Steve Biko FC have 12 points, rounding out the 18-team standings.
