Lamin Manneh of Brikama Jalamba appeared before Magistrate I.O. Njie on Thursday, charged with a single count of rape, contrary to Section 3(13) of the Sexual Offences Act 2013.
The accused was not represented by legal counsel. Sergeant J. Preirra appeared on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
According to court records, Manneh is alleged to have “willfully and unlawfully carnal knowledge” of a three-year-old girl (name withheld) on or about August 25, 2025, in Brikama Jalamba, an offence for which he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Preirra, requested an adjournment to secure the attendance of the first prosecution witness.
The court granted bail to the accused for D200,000, with two Gambian sureties. The case has been adjourned to Friday, September 11, 2025, for the hearing of the first witness.
