The Brikama Magistrates’ Court Tuesday delivered judgment in a suit between Metta Rotnicki Camara (the plaintiff) and Ajibou Bojang (the defendant), ordering the defendant to pay a sum of ten thousand dalasis (D10,000.00) being rent arreas.
Magistrate K.B. Sambou, the presiding magistrate also ordered Bojang to pay the plaintiff one thousand five hundred dalasis (D1500.00) as cost.
Meanwhile, during the trial, the court heard that the plaintiff’s claims were for the recovery of the sum of ten thousand dalasis (D10,000.00) being arrears of rent which the defendant failed or refused to pay despite several demands.
According to the court, the parties had reached an agreement in open court that the defendant should pay the judgment sum of D10,000.00 in monthly instalments, commencing at the end of August 2025.
“The above agreement is hereby adopted by the court,” the magistrate declared, adding that the defendant had already paid D1,000 in open court, which was received by the plaintiff.
