Karamo Njie, UDP’s North Bank Region’s Public Relations Officer, has advised Momodou Sabally the presidential adviser to mind his words directed at the UDP party.
According to Mr. Njie the UDP has done a great deal of generosity for Mr. Sabally before the latter’s defection to the ruling NPP where he now serves as deputy campaign manager.
In an exclusive interview with The Voice, Njie said the presidential adviser was bent on directing negative comments at UDP despite the existence of other opposition parties in the country.
Njie’s remarks followed Sabally’s public apology to President Adama Barrow during Coffee Time over West Coast Radio wherein Sabally asserted that he was misled by UDP narratives that the president was not competent to govern the country.
“If what Sabally was saying was influenced by UDP, then what he’s saying right now is also influenced by an NPP narrative. This means Sabally doesn’t know anything about politics,” Njie remarked.
“But I’m advising him to maturely consider all his utterances because he must come back to UDP in the near future. Everyone knows that the NPP’s rule is almost ending, so he needs to consider the possibilities of the future,” Njie added.
UDP’s North Bank spokesperson revealed that his party spent over a million dalasis on Momodou Sabally and stood for him during his arrests, but such good gestures were never acknowledged by Sabally.
Njie recounted his role of convincing Sabally to join the UDP, affirming that UDP leadership would never castigate Sabally even though he was bent on attacking his former party. Momodou Sabally was UDP’s campaign manager before his defection to ruling NPP, where he was appointed to the position of deputy campaign manager by President Barrow.
