Abubacarr Tunkara was, on Thursday, 4th April 2024, arraigned before Magistrate Isatou Mbaye Sallah of Kanifing Magistrate Court for a charge of malicious injury to property.
His charge sheet read that on the 29th day of March 2024 at Fajara, Abubacarr Tunkara wilfully and unlawfully damaged the following items, a car Mark BMW with the registration number BJL 4545 T windscreen, valued at D15,000.00 (fifteen thousand Dalasis), Toilet seat valued at D2,500.00 (two thousand five hundred dalasis), window valued at D1,500.00(one thousand five hundred dalasis), total valued of D19,000.00 (nineteen thousand dalasis) being the properties of one Bangi Akambi .
Meanwhile, when the charge sheet was read to him he pleaded guilty with uncertainty.
Prosecutor M.A Jallow therefore sought an adjournment to prepare witnesses in the case.
Subsequently, Magistrate Isatou Mbaye Sallah pointed out that the accused is not bailable since he was disrespectful to the court and also the prosecutor, M A Jallow.
Magistrate Isatou Mbaye Sallah further stated that the accused will be detained till the next adjournment date, Monday, 8th April 2024.
